Christ Church Pastoral Care –  The job of Pastoral Care Co-ordinator

The role of Pastoral Elder is to co-ordinate and oversee the care system.

Caring for Church Members and regular adherents is done through the cell group /House Group.   If there are any who are not part of this small group system, they are linked to an appropriate group.

Each group is cared for by the other members of their group with the leaders being responsible for making sure that care is being carried out in the best way and in order to share the load. This is sometimes done by a telephone call, e-mail or visit, and importantly prayer.

If someone needs a confidential, private talk or prayer time with someone, they will always be able to contact an Elder. For most needs, the first port of call remains the pastoral group.

A list of Groups and those linked to them are held by the leaders of each group and are updated from time to time as changes occur.

 As part of our caring:

 >  at our Church and Elders’ meetings  we always share Pastoral News so that all may be remembered in prayer.

 >  flowers are given to those who are unwell, or to those who may be celebrating an anniversary etc.,

 Galatians 6 vs 9 & 10:

‘Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.  Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.’
