Small study groups

Cell groups and  house groups were set up for church members and friends to meet together during the week and further study God's word. Each group is small starting with 6 people and growing up to 15. AT this point if it is appropriate the group divides into two groups and hopefully starts growing again. Small study groups are an important feature of Christ Church. It is time to get to know each other better as we seek to know more about God together. Knowing more about each other makes it easier to help each person learn what God has planed for them and encourage them to reach their potential and fulfil their goals.  These small groups are the centre of the church's pastoral care where the group endevours to meet the needs of the people within the group, or those who are attached to the group for the purpose of prayer and support.  Every person in the church is unique and so each group is also unique, meeting on different days and at different times and often are studying different material. It's possible to find the group nearest to you by contacting the Pastoral Care Co-ordinator (currently Elder June). However it might be that a particular night etc., might suti you better. Talk to the group leader or members.  Below is an outline of the different groups.

Cell groups are built on the 4 W's principle - Welcome, Worship, Word & Witness

Laird Cell group - South Tonbridge

Meets Monday @ 8pm  (except school holiday & church meeting night.)

June/July - Have been watching and discussing Nooma Videos by Rob Bell and these have been quite thought provoking.   Still at the home of Jayne & Dave the evenings starts with drinks and chat about everyone's week, opens and closes in prayer with the study in between and ends around 9.30/10pm.  There is occasional singing with Dave on guitar and Mark on Keyboards, although not so much since the group split (to form the Munn's cellgroup). This cell group aims for monthly fundraising meals @ £10 per head to which anyone is welcome (ask us at church for dates) or something in the social line. These take the form of Men's Curry nights, Ladies nights or mixed events that have in the past included BBQ's and once, a wine tasting & quiz.  The socials are for anyone- neighbours, family and friends, as are the fundraising events and the cellgroup itself.

NEXT EVENT - SAT 2nd October @7.30 50/60's night at the church. Tickets 2 for £15 Money to Rocio in Peru to buy a commercial bread oven. Ask in church for details
