OUR  CHURCH   VESTIBULE  (opposite McDonalds) ON   THE HIGH  STREET  IS OPEN, MONDAY TO SATURDAY, FROM 10AM TO 1PM (MIDDAY ON SAT), FOR COFFEE OR TEA                                               AND A CHAT

Christ Church belongs to the denomination known as  the United Reformed Church (URC). We aim to work with the other Christian denominations in the town, and build up the faith of all who are part of the Church through worship, teaching, fellowship and Bible study, and to help one another to become more like Christ.  We believe we have a special calling as the Church on the High Street, making Christ known through our love, our joy, our words and our activities and to bring new people into the Kingdom of God.

'Being disciples together - making disciples together'

We have a membership of about 90 and meet every Sunday at 10.00am for Morning Worship. The first Sunday in the month is currently a 'Church for All' form of Service, offering varying Worship activities - prayer, art work, singing , Bible study, sermon or just a chat over coffee. The second in the month is a Communion Service. The third Sunday is usually a visiting preacher, while the fourth (and fifth) Sundays in the month are worship and teaching.

Children generally meet as part of the whole Church for the first twenty-five minutes or so and then go out into their own groups (called Power Praise) for the remainder of the Service. We all meet for coffee after the Service. There is also opportunity for prayer after the Service. There is a meeting for teenagers (Link) on Sunday evenings at 7.15pm.

Small Groups (Cell or House groups) meet in various Members homes during the week. One such group is shown above on the occasion of a visit of members of the Zambian Church that they support

Meetings for 'Mums and Toddlers' ( Sunbeam Club) and 'Mum's to be' (Bumps and Babes)  are held on Tuesdays, The Guild, for older members and friends on Thursday afternoons, Power House, for young people on a Friday evening.

Our  Church Vestibule, on the High Street, is open to all, each morning Monday to Saturday, for coffee/tea/cold drinks  and a chat.

Times of all the above activities can be found on the Monthly Calendar webpage
